Rev. Dr. Sherrisse Kelly Bryant, a native of Tallahassee, Florida, currently serves as the Youth Minister at Greater Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church in St. Petersburg, Florida. She is passionate about youth ministry, spiritual formation, writing, teaching, and intertwining science and ministry. Dr. Bryant earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from Florida A&M University in 2007, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Chemistry from Louisiana State University, in 2013.
She has also served as an intern at the National Aeronautics and Space Agency (NASA) Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California and Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York. In 2014, she matriculated at Asbury Theological Seminary. In 2014, she was also ordained as an Itinerant Deacon in the A.M.E. Church. In addition to her ministerial endeavors, Dr. Bryant works full time as an Associate Professor of Chemistry at the University of South Florida, in Tampa, Florida.
Dr. Bryant is married to Mark Bryant and they have a son, Mark Jr. She also enjoys serving the community as an Advisor for the Women in the Making Mentoring Program and she is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. She desires to minister to individuals within the church and community who are hurting, lost, seeking answers and experiencing situations she knows all too well.
